💡 What to know
What we compare
MSM stands for methylsulfonylmethane. OptiMSM and other trade names may identify a particular ingredient source, but the active substance is still MSM. Blends with glucosamine or chondroitin are not direct equivalents to pure MSM. Price is normalized to 1,000 mg MSM.
Benefits
MSM is an organosulfur compound. Clinical studies have focused mainly on pain, stiffness, and joint function in people with osteoarthritis, and some placebo-controlled trials reported improvements in these symptoms.
